Submit your idea or concern

One of MetroIBA's three key goals is "to improve conditions for local independents by influencing public policy." The organization has done this in a number of instances, from weighing in on zoning issues along Grand Avenue to supporting the Minnesota Health Plan at the state legislature.

How do we choose what policy issues or positions to take on? Ultimately, the Board of Directors decides. We'd like to improve this process starting in 2010 by asking MetroIBA members to take the lead. Our goal is to establish a clear and concrete policy agenda based on your ideas and prioritized by members at a February 9 policy caucus.

Please help us start this process by sharing your policy ideas or concerns. Is there a city, county or state government policy or practice that harms your business? Do you have a need that could be met through some sort of cooperative plan or government program? Use the form below to submit an idea or concern, policy or problem. We will bring these ideas to the February 9 policy caucus for consideration and debate.

Let us know if you are interested in working to make MetroIBA a stronger voice for independent business on policy isssues.
