Message from the director

Hello and Happy New Year! In this, our first newsletter of 2008, I would like to take some time to introduce myself to those of you I have not met and let everyone know what you can expect from your executive Director. I was hired at the end of July and jumped right into the job. We went right to work planning and hosting the ZingTrain event we held in October. I have been helping get memberships updated, recruiting new members and making efforts to meet member businesses. Since this position is supposed to be part time, I have not been able to meet everyone yet. That is in my plan for 2008. I am hoping by the end of the year, I will have been able to meet each and everyone of our members face to face. Throughout the year, I will get in touch with you and set those meetings up. In the meantime, I can be reached via email and phone if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to talk. Please do understand, as much as I would like to work 60 hours a week to accommodate the immediate needs of everyone, it might take me a day or two to get back to your calls or emails, but I do promise that I will get back to you. I work from my home office, so I do not keep "normal business hours". That being said, don’t be surprised if you get email at strange hours from me.

The personal side of my life is my family. I am married and have two beautiful daughters (ages 3 and 5). We have a lab/setter puppy, a fish and 5 birds to round out our home in SW Minneapolis. I love to read and always appreciate book suggestions.

I am very happy to be part of the MetroIBA and I am really looking forward to getting to know all of you. This organization has fantastic potential and I think, together, we can achieve that potential. Any feedback and suggestions you have are always welcome and encouraged. We take everything each member says into consideration.
