July 2005 METROiba newsletter

This is Independents Week, one of the AMIBA national marketing campaigns. Being one of the newer IBAs in the country, we are doing a grass root, no budget campaign that includes your participation.
(see release for info)

The challenge: Every member of METROiba, sign up one new METROiba member between July 1-7.

You can print out our brochure and membership form from our website. http://www.metroiba.org/node/132

You know I love to close a sale. See if you can collect the check on the spot. Offer to mail it in for them. Then email one of the METROiba board members with the name of the new member and we will broadcast to the group. Merritt, our director, is on vacation. Lets surprise her with twice as many members and double the money in the bank when she returns.

For those of you who missed our Membership Meeting on June 23rd, it was a great success. We packed the room with over 30 attendees. Valley Bookseller from Stillwater joined us on the spot. Nina’s Coffee Café sent in their check the next day. Many others are filling out their applications as you read this and have already signed up to be on METROiba committees. I had many folks tell me how rejuvenating the meeting was. Here was a room of like-minded people looking for positive solutions to the current problems facing independent, locally owned businesses.

Don’t let your neighboring businesses, supportive customers and friendly competitors miss the opportunity of being part of our active new organization. This is an easy goal I know we all can meet.

Look for a survey from our Government Relations Committee to rank your interests in various legislative issues.

Look forward to a more social, evening membership meeting later July.

Best regards,

Beth
