Our IBAs and friends around the country will be helping their communities celebrate their Independents--the locally-owned independent businesses that make our home towns unique, keep entrepreneurism alive, give back to the community in time, talent, goods and services, and so much more--and the independent decision-making ability each of us possesses to choose the future look and feel of the place we make our home. IBAs will involve the community in a range of activities including musical gatherings public education scavenger hunt picnic in-store promotions and activities prize drawings more! You can take the Indie Challenge --use Independents Week to explore your community's independently-owned businesses see how much of your purchasing for that week you can do with them. You'll keep your money circulating in your community three times as long or more than spending it at chains where it leaves immediately for somewhere else. Every dollar you spend at a locally-owned business helps your community in many ways. AMIBA is challenging prominent faces in communities as well as national celebrities to take the Indie Challenge.
