2010 Independent Business Policy Caucus
| Sit down with fellow MetroIBA members to share concerns for ways city, county and state policy does (or doesn't) affect our businesses and communities, and decide on top issues/ideas for the Alliance's 2010 policy agenda. | |||||||||||

One of MetroIBA's three key goals is "to improve conditions for local independents by influencing public policy." The organization has done this in a number of instances, from weighing in on zoning issues along Grand Avenue to supporting the Minnesota Health Plan at the state legislature. How do we choose what policy issues or positions to take on? Ultimately, the Board of Directors decides. We'd like to improve this process starting in 2010 by asking MetroIBA members to take the lead. Our goal is to establish a clear and concrete policy agenda based on your ideas and prioritized by you and your fellow members at the February 9 policy caucus. The caucus event will include:
All MetroIBA members - business, non-profit or citizen - are invited to attend and participate in decisionmaking. Owners/representatives from non-member businesses are welcome to attend and share ideas but may not participate in deciding on the 2010 agenda without first joining the Alliance. | |||||||||||
