Caucus event agenda
The current draft agenda is as folllows. Adjustments may yet be made.
Agenda goals:
- Come away with 5 (or fewer) priority issues or concerns to form the basis of our 2010 policy agenda
- Recruit at least 5 members interested in working on follow-up to finalize and implement the agenda
| Time | Activity | Description |
| 4:00pm | Registration Opens | |
| 4:30 | Education Session 1 (optional) | Presentation of an issue affecting independent business and brief Q&A |
| 5:00 | Education Session 2 (optional) | Presentation of an issue affecting independent business and brief Q&A |
| 6:10 | Dinner and group discussion | Members share dinner and policy ideas. Ideas submitted beforehand will be available for discusison and review. A facilitator will be present for each group to ensure a civil and productive discussion. The goal: identify several policy goals/ideas that are relevant and meaningful to independent businesses that we have a reasonable chance of achieving, or building steps towards achievement of the goal. |
| 6:30 | Registration Closes | Small group discussion and dinner continues. |
| 7:25 | Plenary session | Everyone joins together to review a presentation of all the suggested ideas. A brief session of walking around and sticking dots on ideas will help to whittle the overall list of ideas down to a number manageable to discuss meaningfully. The full group will discuss and de-prioritize less popular or less feasible of the remaining ideas. If necessary, we can take a preference vote to decide the top ideas. |
| 8:30 | Thank you | Thank you and call to action: step up to join our policy committee. |
